The available parcels span areas just west of the Museum of Science and Industry along South Ellis Avenue to a smaller cluster near the intersection of East Hyde Park Boulevard and Stony Island Avenue. The release forms part of the Hyde Park Chi Urban Renewal Partnership, a multi-year program involving the Hyde Park Housing Cooperative, the University of Chicago’s Office of Civic Engagement, and the City Council’s Fifth Ward office. The lots are zoned primarily for single-family homes and multifamily units up to three floors.

Applicants can submit proposals for individual lots-averaging 3,500 square feet-or for grouped parcels intended for community-oriented developments.
